Abstract
Effect of the rotor geometry modifications for minimization of cogging torque in flux reversal generator (FRG). Respect to rotor geometry, rotor pole arc changes and V-shaped punches on pole of the rotor. Characterization of the FRG under these cases for the observation of the effects on cogging torque was performed using threedimensional finite element analysis. The results of simulation, a model were selected for prototyping and working model was thus made and validated. Such a sensitivity analysis focused on the reduction of cogging torque is a new addition to the FRG literature. The possible inferences of every case are systematically provided.
