Abstract
Translational order parameter has been computed in the smectic B phase of a Schiff base liquid crystalline compound, namely, pButoxybenzylidene p-Heptylaniline using its X-ray diffraction data. The results obtained have been discussed in terms of molecular ordering present in its Smectic B phase
