This article describes in detail their features: a mandatory intracellular host - dependent parasitism, unique cycle of development and its stage, forms of a new generation of microorganisms. The modern taxonomy of chlamydia is characterized. The important biological characteristics (the presence of latent and persistent flow) of chlamydial infection is considered.
