THE CONCEPT OF TRANSITION TO SMALL-SLAG CONVERTER TECHNOLOGY

The concept of small-slag converter technology using the resource- and energy-efficient route "blast furnace – converter with combined blowdown" is substantiated. The technological advantages preliminary refining cast iron in the casting ladle are shown by blowing powdered mixtures reagents deep into the melt in the carrier gas stream through the nozzles rotating submerged lance. Based on the results high-temperature experiments, rational regimes of refining, the type and ratio inexpensive cheap reagents in mixtures are determined.
