Abstract
Annotation. The analysis of available data in the technical literature on the development of landslides in various conditions and countries of the world is continued and on this basis the general trends inherent in this phenomenon are revealed. Such factors are considered: regularity of landslides in developing and industrially developed countries, as well as countries with transitional economy. It is concluded that despite the achievements of modern technology, the theory and practice of calculating landslides, there is a clear trend of increasing in time the number of landslides and the number of human victims.
