Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify ways by which cataloguing services in the University of Uyo Library can be made more effective through the application of Information and communication Technologies (ICTs). The study was predicted on the theoretical perspective called “the diffusion of innovation theory”. A survey research design was adopted for this study. A total of 13 cataloguers working in university of Uyo library were purposively sampled. Findings showed that cataloguers are aware of the potentials of information and communication technologies in cataloguing services. They felt that the use of ICT would enhance effectiveness and efficiency, economic gains, aids storage and easy and quick retrieval of information by users; and provide them with competitive advantage as ICT is perceived as relatively advantageous. Recommendations on ICT skills training and use of Integrated library management software such as KOHA were also made
