Abstract
Intrusion is one of the important issues in all network especially in cloud computing where all the services are served using internet. Intrusion is the process of entering into a network without proper authentication. Intrusions are detected using intrusion detection systems. In the existing system, the audited Data has to traverse a long path from its origin to the intrusion detection system (IDS) and in the process can potentially be destroyed or modified by an attacker. The system can also become vulnerable when connected to the internet. This study seek to develop an intrusion detection model that can detect violations, using the IP(Internet protocol)/MAC (Media access control) address at the point of entering the network of a cloud based system. The methodology adopted for this work is Object-Oriented Hypermedia Method (OOHDM) and the programming language used are PHP, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL. The new system brings about a new method of detecting intruders by the combined use of IP/MAC address.
