Abstract
The article considers the mortality from tetanus which was annually registered among inhabitants of Armavir in the pre-revolution period. The causes of mortality such as the shortage of health care workers, the lack of accessible medical aid and necessary vaccines and serums, poor health status of children, high injuries of the male population during military service were analysed
