Abstract
The wide-band code division multiple access (WCDMA) based 3G and beyond cellular mobile wireless networks are expected to provide a diverse range of multimedia services to mobile users with guaranteed quality of service (QoS). The mobile network provides both error detection and error correction as channel coding scheme. This paper gives simulation observations of convolutional coding effect on reverse link (uplink) for voice 12.2 kbps and video 64 kbps service. The results are compared with and without utility factor based call admission control (CAC) scheme of WCDMA technology and its channel convolutional coding soft and hard decision decoder scheme.
