Abstract
Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by autoantibody-mediated accelerated platelet destruction. ITP has an incidence of 5.8-6.6 per 100 000 per year. Thrombosis is a rare but recognized complication of ITP. Recently platelet derived microparticles have been implicated in the causation of thrombotic events in ITP. We here report a case of a 30 year old female, who was diagnosed to have ITP seven years ago, she discontinued treatment after one year and has now presented with an ischemic stroke
