Characterization of dysgraphia in children

Abstract
A descriptive study was conducted to characterize written language difficulties (dysgraphia) of children attending at the consultation of Defectology Policlinic "Omar Ranedo Pubillones" The universe is 143 children Basic Working Group No. 1 attending Defectology consultation. The sample consisted of 65 children who had problems in writing. The primary data was collected through interviews and application of methods of speech therapy exploration of reading and writing. The variables were studied: age, sex, type of dysgraphia, symptoms, while attending the consultation of Defectology, speech therapy time attention. It predominance of males, age 7 years, prevalence of acoustic and optical dysgraphia, organic etiology, difficulties in phonemic and visual perception. It was concluded that is a specific, stable and partial disorder, writing process, multicausal etiology and delay correction is insufficient in preparation of teachers and family.
