Fire extinguishing by finely-dispersed water of high pressure

Abstract

It is noted that the introduction of high-performance fire extinguishing systems with high-pressure water mist (high-pressure air-jetting pump) is limited due to the lack of a regulatory framework governing their design and use. Comparative assessments of traditional low-pressure (TL) high-pressure fire extinguishing systems and systems using high-pressure air-jet engines are given. The higher efficiency of fire extinguishing systems for HP VD is shown in comparison with traditional ones. The advantages of using fire extinguishing systems for high-pressure engines, in particular water mist, are noted. The areas where the use of these systems is most effective are given. It is indicated that it is more correct to consider systems with VD VTR as a means of volumetric or local-volumetric fire extinguishing.
