Knowledge of suicidal behavior in healthcare professional

Abstract
Educational intervention study was conducted with the aim of contributing to improve the management and monitoring of patients with suicidal behavior from basic health teams popular council No. 8 belonging to the Policlinic "Asdrúbal López Vázquez,” from January to December 2014.Universe of 30 basic health teams, a sample of 20 simple random method represented by 20 doctors and 20 nurses were selected. Form was applied with the following variables: way of obtaining knowledge of what is suicidal behavior, knowledge of how reporting, referral criteria, patient monitoring with suicidality. As for the means of obtaining information 55% of respondents said they knew the show because they heard there. Most did not know the goals of the national program for the prevention of suicidal behavior and know how to make the report. Health personnel, in general, know the criteria for referral and responsible for monitoring of suicidal behavior. Conclusions and recommendations are given in this research.
