Abstract
A retrospective study was conducted in a population reported outside the leprosy program, inmates in the Hospital "Dr. Hernandez-Fernandez Baquero Guillermo" in the period 2012-2015, in order to determine the occurrence of leprosy reactions. The population consists of 74 closed cases, and the sample of 38 of them. The information is collected through surveys and medical records processed in a database created for this purpose. Test of Independence and Fisher's exact applied to determine statistical differences between the percentages of each variable. Testing goodness of fit between some percentages with accuracy of 95% is made. The results are presented through tables; significant differences exist between Leprosy and reaction by age group, sex and skin color, being often present in 1-3 of them, standing between 59.7% and 87.7% which showed leprosy reaction ever, with no differences between time high and leprosy reaction.
