Intestinal parasitism in children aged 0-14 years. Parents educational intervention

Abstract
Due to the incidence of numerous cases of intestinal parasitism in the area of health was the reason for which an educational intervention study was conducted with the aim of modifying the level of knowledge about intestinal parasitism parents of children aged 0-14 years belonging to popular medical office Provis health area Calicanto, Torres Municipality, Lara State, Venezuela from October 2013 to October 2014. The study group consisted of 68 parents, of which 36 represented the sample by simple random method. Used variables such as: sex, age and level of knowledge, checking the knowledge before and after the intervention ended. It was concluded that dominated the women, between 20 and 29 years, and managed to positively change the level of knowledge on intestinal parasites with high efficiency program implemented in classes. It is recommended to extend this type of study to other areas of health and schools.
