Abstract

A study of 91 743 patient's viral marker is performed in the lab of microanalytical system at the Diagnosis Medical Center of High Technology "Francisco de Miranda", Venezuela, from December to January 2012, with the aim of characterizing the behavior of the surface antigen seroprevalence of hepatitis B in 132 cases. variables were studied in correspondence with the characteristics of the patients such as: age, sex, and how many were pregnant, others related to the disease were the following: seroprevalence surface antigen in one year, association with other communicable diseases such as Chaga disease, hepatitis C, dengue and its correlation with liver function, tests such as alkaline transaminase (ALT); Aspartate aminotransferase (AST); gammaglutamyltranspeptidase (GGT). The surface antigen seroprevalence of hepatitis B is less than ones reported in the literature for the Venezuelan population.
