Abstract
The major dilemma of the South Asian security architecture is noncompability of the regional security visions of India and Pakistan. The security architecture in the Sub-connent has diplomac and polical dimensions which are no less important than the purely military issues and security framework and mindset. Although there is hardly any chance for the divergence in the security perspecves of India and Pakistan to reconcile in the near future, but Pakistan can improve its situaon in the regional polical and security architecture by increasing its posive relevance for the internaonal community. This is possible when Pakistan's civilian leadership is able to manage polical conflicts, increases internal polical coherence, strengthens the economy and above all, controls religious extremism and terrorism.
