Abstract
The great availability of information and access to the media in our days implies that, regardless of different characteristics and interests, people are the recipient of documentaries and specialized health campaigns. Is it possible to say that their influence is innocuous when referring to Eating Disorders? Will the evaluation and influence of a concrete report cause different impact on people with personal experience close to Eating Disorders? Will there be any differences based on previous specific professional training? Contrary to what was expected by the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), the results indicate that, although the specific profession has a significant influence on the evaluation and consideration of health-related information, the personal experience close to patients with Eating Disorders seems to be irrelevant.
