Abstract
The silting of dams in Algeria is one of the most complex problems that concern researchers in the field, Considering the enormous amount of solid particles arriving at the storage areas. All studies, previously conducted to have a realistic estimate, have been sterile because of the lack of historical data which presents an armada of shortcomings, the inadequacy of hydrometric stations installed and the lack of adequate human and material resources deployed in the sector. The quantification and characterization of hydro-sediment transport in the courtyards is very important to have a concrete evaluation of the solid transport makes it is possible to determine an exact longevity of the reservoirs as well as a better dimension of the infrastructures of the dams. This study is based on the ordinary streams of northwestern Algeria, which remain little studied until now.
