Abstract

In this article the issue of tendency of water quality change of the Lankaran river (one of the rivers of the southern natural zone of Azerbaijan, large on water content) is considered. It is established that as a result of climate change and anthropogenic factors, the quality of water of the Lankaran river is formed in the negative direction. So, during 21 years, the chemical composition of the river water underwent drastic change. The mineralization of river water raised by 1,3 times, contents of the chloride ion – by 5,4 times, sulfate ion – by 1,5 time, hydrocarbonate – by 1,3 times. Among toxic ingredients the content of nitrite increased by 2,0 time, nitrate – by 5,4 time, ammonium – by 4,3 time, ferrum – by 7,0 times, zinc – by 1,5 time, aluminum – by 1,3 times. The muddiness of river water increased by 4,7 times, water hardness – by 1,3 times, and the indicator of biological oxygen demand (BOD) – by 2,0 times in comparison with initial (1986).
