Abstract
This literary research is devoted to the analysis of the author's point of view on the problems raised by Mark Twain in the novel “Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc, by the Sieur Louis de Conte”. The author of article does attempt to consider how stylistic reception of "double vision" is reflected in the composition structure of the work and in what degree he helps to reveal the essence of the ideological views of the American writer, in particular, of his relation to progressive development of society.
