THE METHODOLOGY FOR DETERMINING THE MODERNITY DEGREE OF TOPOGRAPHIC MAPS

This article describes the methodology for determining the modernity degree of the updatable map on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The work is carried out to assess the conformity of the map content to the changes in the terrain in determining the need to update topographic maps. Difficulties in planning the upcoming topographic and geodetic works are constantly arising due to the lack of methods for determining the present topographic maps. The authors have developed a methodology for determining the modernity degree of maps, which are conditionally divided depending on the importance of local subjects.
