DISTRIBUTION AND NEST BIOLOGY OF A LONG-EARED OWL (ASIO OTUS) IN TASHKENT OASIS

Abstract
Field studies were conducted to study the distribution, the number of biotopes and nesting places of a long-eared owl found in the Tashkent oasis during the winter, spring and summer seasons 2018, as well as to reveal the level of anthropogenic influence on the biotopes of their habitat. Determination of the distribution and number of longeared owls was conducted in 20 different forested areas of the flat region of the Tashkent oasis in 170.5 hectares. In the course of research conducted since January 2018, the occurrence of a long-eared owl in recreation parks, parks, cemeteries, tugai along rivers, as well as in artificial stands, and their abundance was revealed.
