Abstract
The development in field of IoT enabled a new wave of low-cost connected devices playing significant role in development of smart city. The LoRa Low-Power Wide Area Network emerged to realize the communication requirements of the IoT devices. Smart streetlight system is considered as one of the key emerging technologies for a smart city where IoT is beneficial. Combination of sensors and LoRa based wireless modules can provide a most favorable platform for an advanced LED streetlight application. This gives low-cost, low-power infrastructure for outdoor lighting solution that benefits to local government as well as vehicle users plus pedestrians. We have design a central web system that collects real time data from sensors located on each LED streetlight pole and provides a dynamic and flexible web interface for authorized users. This paper will take a look at the LoRa technology and its usability in Smart Street Light scenarios. Furthermore, it manifest the range performance in a point-topoint communication.
