OUTLOOK FOR MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS ACTIVITIES IN INDIA

The process of mergers and acquisitions has gained pivotal importance in Indian corporate world presently. The increased competition in global market has prompted Indian companies to adopt this strategic route. This paper analyses opportunities and challenges arising in Indian M&A space. M&A deals and activities are expected to increase in upcoming time as local and international investors are eyeing on tremendous growth spurt in India caused by new IBC code, policy support by government and growing digitization. Challenges like crude oil prices, global trade war and inflation may pose a problem. Conclusion is made at the end stating that the overall outlook for merger and acquisition in India remains positive on account of easing up of regulatory process and unleashing flexible business policies by government which will keep on drawing interest of both domestic and international players in Indian economy.
