Abstract
This paper represents validation of the EPANET 2.0 software. In this study a sample water distribution system model is developed. Importance of this study is that a proper hydraulic model should be prepared, and validated to convert old intermittent system into a continuous system. Study comprises of an approach to work from Part to Whole. Various input data of elevation, length of pipe, demand of water in the area, pipe roughness, etc were considered. The output results of discharge, pressure and velocity of water at various junctions and links of the pipes were obtained. It was analyzed, that the results of hydraulic parameters obtained using EPANET exactly matches to the results obtained by the calculations in EXCEL. The study shows that water distribution system can run successfully in any simplest to complex water distribution system network. The study concluded that, EPANET can be validated and compared with other water distribution network of any study area.
