Abstract
This paper investigates the tensile strength and hardness of Aluminium metal matrix composites AA6061reinforced with ZrB2 and SiC. The metal matrix composite is prepared by using stir cating setup. The effect of ZrB2 and SiC particulate content , hardness and tensile strength of the composites was analyzed. The insitu fabricated ZrB2 and the reinforced SiC particles enhances the hardness and also the tensile strength of the metal matrix composite. The results indicated that ZrB2 and SiC particles were effective to increase the hardness and tensile strength of the metal matrix composite. The different propotion of the metal matix are listed and their effectiveness towards the hardness and tensile strength are also presented
