Emotional intelligence and its relation to the motivation of learning among secondary school pupils: A case study of Malek Ibn Nabi secondary School in Setif

Abstract
In this article, we will attempt to identify the extent to which emotional intelligence correlates with the motivation of learning in secondary school students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used to draw on the emotional intelligence measure of Mr. Othman and Mr. Abdo (2002) and the motivational measure of learning for "Yousef Qatami", using a sample of 103 students. The study showed the following results: - There is a positive correlation at the level of significance (0.01 = α) between each dimension of emotional intelligence (emotion management emotion regulation - empathy - emotional knowledge - social communication) and motivation of learning among the study sample members. - There is a positive correlation at the level of significance (0.01 = α) between the degree of total degree of emotional intelligence and motivation of learning in the daily life of the sample of the study.
