The study involved 20 below average first year mechanical engineering students of Vellore institute of technology (VIT), India. Data were collected through questionnaire, which was meant for both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The findings of the study suggest that learners feel comfortable to express their opinions among their peers than in traditional classroom set up with teacher centered model. Hence it is proved that students are interested in group learning and CL improved their academic performance as well.
