Abstract

In this paper, the Truesdell method is utilized to derive the generating functions for the generalized hypergeometric polynomial set ( ; ; , ) R x y n   by giving suitable interpretation to the index n. Further, it is interesting to note that these generating functions can be suitably applied to yield numerous applications to various classical orthogonal polynomials of mathematical physics namely the Laguerre, Meixner, Gottlieb and Krawtchouk polynomials.
