Abstract
The article investigates effective strategies for teaching English as a
foreign language listening skill. The aim of the study is to find ways to solve difficulties concerning listening comprehension among high school learners. Main emphasis is placed on the use of meta cognitive strategies as a facilitator of comprehension. The findings of this study might have implications for learners, teachers and material developers in the field of English language teaching and learning.
