Abstract
A person who wishes to seek religious knowledge especially from those who are native of Arabic language and he is not a native speaker of Arabic, he needs to learn the language and acquire a solid understanding of it. This will enable him understanding the meanings being indicated by the Qur'an and Sunnah with respect to Islamic Law. Once he is equipped with this ability, he will be able to carry out what the Qur'an and Sunnah command of him and shun what these two sources prohibit him. However, it must be admitted that acquiring an intimate and in-depth knowledge of Arabic is not a small task. It is difficult for a native speaker of Arabic, not to mention those who are not Arabic native speaker. In this paper, the following issues should be discussed on how to improve learning Arabic in Nigeria:. The Importance of Arabic Studies to the Nation - Inclusion of Arabic Studies in the School Curriculum - Problem Facing Arabic language and religion Studies in secondary Schools.
