Abstract

Purpose- TQM is an organized, amalgamated, dependable and company-wide philosophy which inculcates a culture of continuous improvement. It stresses to employ people in cross functional teams to bring a change of improvement. TQM has replaced other existing quality techniques because it is an organization wide activity and has capacity to reach every individual in an industry. Industries that have avoided TQM couldn't justify their standing in world rankings. For better implementation of TQM, industries must have a full proof model/ framework and industries who have implemented it without a vision have also been segregated by the competition. So, in this regards, a TQM implementation model has been proposed in this study for NonTQM industries. The purpose of doing so is to encourage Non-TQM industries to implement it with a planned model. Research Methodology- After an extended literature review a research instrument (having 8 elements and 52 items), in the form of questionnaire, was prepared and compared with some existing novel instruments proposed by some pioneers. 105 valid responses from eight different types of industries were received, out of which from 79 have TQM implementation in them and 26 don't have it. Findings- To explore the comparison of different element groups with customer satisfaction for Non-TQM industries using assorted hypotheses and to propose a TQM implementation model for Non-TQM industries. Research Implications– As, the study is subject to customary limitations of survey investigations and is solely dependent on the statistics responded by the respondents across 105 industries, which may not endow with evident measures of performance. Originality/value- The study is supportive in portraying the knowledge of NonTQM industries about TQM implementation in India. Nevertheless, the proposed TQM implementation model will assist Non-TQM industries in inculcating a culture of TQM implementation in them, if needed.
