Abstract

This research paper explores adoption of ICT integrated pedagogy in management education/higher education institutions with specific reference to different categories of students based on their socio-economic status. The study is a case research on privately run, mid-tier B-Schools in the eastern parts of India. The research work explores the variations in the perceptions and meanings associated with adoption of technology among the management students; segmentation of the population based on the variations; understand and compare the agents' practices within each segment based upon their behaviour and beliefs, etc. The findings from the study reflect variations in the level of adoption among segments of the students' population, of ICT based pedagogy, under the influence of its determinants like, expected performance, effort expectancy, influence of the society, institutional facilities, motivation, and value of the reward/outcome; and moderators like, socio-economic conditions, gender, access and experience with ICT. The study contributes to the dynamics of ICT adoption among the management students in terms of constraints, opportunities and situational disposition to which the agents of adoption are exposed.
