Abstract
The main purpose of refrigerator is to maintain the freshness of the food products. The factor that directly influence the freshness of the food product is temperature distribution inside the refrigerator cabinet. Any excess in the temperature results in the deterioration of the food products ahead of the expected time. In the present work the distribution of the temperature has been determined using Computational Fluid Dynamics. The preprocessing has been carried out using Ansys Design Modeler Software while meshing and post processing has been done in Ansys 14.5 respectively. The values determined using experiment were used as input in the CFD tool to determine the influencing factors. The plots i.e. distribution in temperature have been obtained for three operating conditions namely minimum cooling, maximum cooling and fast cooling.
