AWARENESS AND USE OF OPEN ACCESS JOURNALS AMONG THE FACULTIES OF ENGINEERING COLLEGES IN PUDUCHERRY: A STUDY

The paper highlights the results of a study on the awareness and use of open access journals among faculty members working in engineering colleges, Puducherry. Four colleges were selected. The data were collected using questionnaire by census method. The study revealed that level of awareness on the open access journals covered in DOAJ is up to the expectations. However, use of such journals by the faculty members varies depending upon the academic positions. The respondents also faced some constraints which have been identified and presented in the paper.
