A REVIEW ON BIO-INSPIRED COMPUTING MODELS
Journal: International Journal of Information Technology and Management information System (IJITMIS) (Vol.7, No. 2)Publication Date: 2018-12-25
Abstract
Molecular computing is a promising method for unconventional computation, owing to its merits of massive parallelism and efficiency in NP problem solving. DNA is a building block to build a molecular computer and it has been explored as an excellent material for building large scale nanostructures, constructing individual nanomechanical devices and performing computation in parallel. This paper first introduces the basic concepts in molecular computing and then provides an overview of existing approaches to encode information and molecular computing models to solve the NP complete problem. It makes an attempt to explore the working nature, applications and generative power of Adleman-Lipton model and sticker model. It discusses the recent advances, challenges and limitations of molecular computing
