Abstract
The paper is devoted to electrochemical reduction of sulfite ions from tartaric acid electrolytes. Kinetics and mechanism of the process, the effect of some factors on electroreduction process of sulphite ions have been studied drawing the cyclic and linear polarization curves on the Pt electrodes. According to the obtained data the energy of activity and diffusional coefficient were calculated. The results obtained from calculation indicate that the electroreduction process of sulphite ions from solutions of the tartaric acid is accompanied by electrochemical polarization.
