Effectiveness based on acceptance and commitment therapy on quality of life women heads of household conducted in Tehran welfare Organization

Abstract
Introduction: Female householders have a low quality of life due to their hard life condition. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment on life quality of households head women sponsored by Tehran welfare organization. Method: The research method was semi-experimental, pretest-posttest with control group and one month follow-up. Among the centers covered by the Welfare Organization of Tehran, a center was selected by purposive sampling method, afterwards among the households head women sponsored by this center, 30 women were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups and then The World Health Organization's Quality of Life Questionnaire was administered to them. The intervention group conducted eight 90 minutes treatment sessions. Quality of life questionnaire was performed as a post-test. Results: The results of post-test covariance analysis showed that the effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment was significant (P <0.01) on the quality of life of households head women. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, treatment based on acceptance and commitment can be used to increase the life quality of households head women.
