Abstract
The article presents the results of experimental tests of the concrete cover behavior with inelastic buckling of longitudinal reinforcement bars using the ARAMIS 3D Digital Image Correlation system. From laboratory tests and numerical analyses of compressed reinforcing bars, it results that the impact on inelastic buckling of rods has their geometry and the properties of reinforcing steel, as well as the concrete cover. The obtained results from the measurements using the ARAMIS optical system give the opportunity to accurately track the behavior of the reinforced concrete structure – from the elastic state of the cross-section, by forecasting the tracing of the scratching, to the destruction of the element.
