Abstract

Ground clutter affects the ground based radar. The higher the radar is above the ground. The greater will be the amount of clutter the radar will "see" in the ground - based radar, clutter signals are primarily from a fixed and permanent target buildings, towers and other manmade structures give move intense echo signals than ordinary country side because of the presence of flat reflecting surfaces and corner reflectors. Many of the recent sophisticated radar systems are characterized by the fact that they have to acquire and track small targets of large distances and at angles close to the horizon. In order to meet these requirement, high radiated power levels and increased receiving system sensitivity are frequently required. As a result, several problems arise which can severely limit radar performance. While these problems are different in effect. They are similar in their solution requires to control over the radar site environment.
