Abstract

Abstract. The article presents the results of theoretical and empirical analysis of values and self-confidence of students. The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between value and trust of the individual. The author considers the value settings as psychological and spiritual principles of the personality, which are formed in the process of self-knowledge and self-realization as the life experience is gained. Selfconfidence is understood as an attitude-attitude, based on subjective value ideas of the individual about himself and including self-acceptance, self-value and belief in selfefficacy. The empirical part presents the results of the study of the relationship of values (normative ideals and individual priorities) and self-confidence in various spheres of life of students of humanitarian areas of training. The study showed that such values as independence, achievements and success, experience of pleasure and novelty are important for students-humanitarians; respondents with a high level of confidence in themselves are more focused on traditional values, independence, universalism, achievements, power and security; the interrelations between value orientations and the level of students ' trust in the sphere of interpersonal, business, professional relations are revealed. In conclusion, it is stated that further studies of the system of values and trust of the individual can become the basis for the development of training programs for the development of optimal trust relations.
