Abstract
Depressed, degraded and abandoned industrial areas require a new approach to their functioning and development, in particular in the direction of social adaptation of large industrial enterprises, the creation of autonomous clusters, etc., on the basis of the development of scientifically based solutions to the economically and socially acceptable renovation of industrial areas and enterprises that improve the conditions to provide energy and resource saving, to preserve the environment, to create comfortable living conditions of the towns. Purpose of the aricle. Substantiation of expediency of reconstruction of depressive industrial territories and enterprises with application of such progressive organizational forms as industrial parks, for example, the Dnipro city. Conclusion. The creation of industrial parks in the territories of obsolete and non-functioning industrial enterprises is a step towards solving the problem of sustainable urban development by rethinking and transforming industrial areas. Complex transformation of degraded industrial zones through the development of industrial areas through the introduction of modern technologies and advanced world experience in the organization of industrial production, together with the construction of housing complex and objects of social infrastructure, the creation of transport and logistics infrastructure, promotes sustainable development of the territory, improving the quality of life of the population, to increase the level of competitiveness of the city.
