Researcher Selection Problem in Higher Education by Using Multi Criteria Decision Making: A Case Study

Abstract
In this study, appropriate researcher selection will be aimed for industrial engineering department in a research project in Turkey. Nowadays, the importance on getting personal education has been increased. In addition, the foundations of knowledge in undergraduate education are important for being a researcher in graduate education. The presence of trained individuals in companies enables achievement in more effective results in decision-making. Personal development of individuals directly affects the company's image and brand value because of competition. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and PROMETHEE methods are used in solving this problem. Criteria are weighted by AHP. 15 candidates have been ranked with PROMETHEE method. ALES score comes to the fore with a value of 24% in weighting. Candidate 14 came first according to the weight of candidates.
