Abstract
The article analyses the artistic features of geometrical and floral patterns of the medieval stonewares found during the archeological excavations in Azerbaijan. The great bulk of medieval ceramic monuments is comprised of clay products. From the 9th century Azerbaijan pottery developed and reached its highest level in the beginning XII–XIII of centuries. High development of pottery production has been directly connected to the general economic and cultural development of the country. As the paint was not used in the production of unvitrified pottery, it was decorated, basically by engraving and stamping. Various decoration techniques of ce- ramics ware included floral and geometrical ornaments as well as patterns of animals, birds and people
