Abstract
A series of metal aluminophosphates (M= Co, Ni, V & Cu) and pure aluminophosphate were prepared by single step co-precipitation method. The materials synthesized were characterized by various methods to understand the surface and textural characteristics. The catalytic activity and recyclability of the materials were investigated in the industrially important organic transformations. Amorphous Mesoporous iron aluminophosphate was found to be the most effective catalyst for the synthesis of pharmacologically important products via transesterification, amidation and condensation reactions of bulky molecules. The leaching property of the iron aluminophosphate was found to be less which maintains the yield and selectivity of the products even after three cycles in the desired reactions without appreciable loss in activity. The inexpensive nature of the catalysts, simple method of preparation and reusability of the catalyst makes the catalyst ecofriendly and protocol environmentally benign for the synthesis of organic fine chemical synthesis.
