Abstract
Ultrasonic velocities, densities and viscosities of the binary mixtures of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone with 2-Methoxyethanol, 2-Ethoxyethanol and 2-Butoxyethanol over the entire composition range between the temperatures 303.15 to 318.15 K at an interval of 5 K are measured. From the experimental values, excess properties like, excess acoustic impedance, excess free length, excess free volume and excess internal pressure are computed. Excess properties are fitted to the Redlich- Kister type polynomial equation and the corresponding standard deviations are estimated. The studies indicate intermolecular interactions between unlike molecules through hydrogen bonding.
