Abstract
The close proximity of splenic hilum to the tail of pancreas makes it vulnerable to complications in both acute and chronic pancreatitis. Involvement of the spleen in chronic pancreatitis, although rare, is well documented. It is now being increasingly reported in association with acute exacerbations of pancreatitis. The spectrum includes perisplenic, intrasplenic pseudocysts, subcapsular haematomas, intra-splenic haemorrhage, splenic infarction and splenic rupture. Here we describe a case of splenic pseudocyst complicating pancreatitis.
