Abstract
Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis is a very rare disorder. We report a case who presented with complaints of progressively worsening dyspnea. Her chest x-ray showed bilateral diffuse alveolar opacities. CT scan of the thorax showed a typical crazy paving appearance. Bronchoalveolar lavage showed PAS positive material confirming the diagnosis of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. She underwent 3 sittings of whole lung lavage under general anesthesia following which she recovered completely and has been recurrence free.
