Abstract

The state of the English-language professional preparedness / proficiency of the future doctors after the training based on the experimental techniques is revealed in the article. The results of pedagogical diagnostics of the problem under study within the educational process of medical institutions of higher education are presented. Upon completion of the experimental work on the English language training of the future doctors, the controlling testing of the state of their proficiency was made. It was aimed at determining the proficiency levels of the phenomenon under study according to the criteria: lingual, perception- and speech-centred, information- and speech-oriented, reflexive and evaluative with the corresponding indicators. Here are the results obtained according to the criteria of the English professional training targeted to the future doctors. In general, at the final stage of the experiment, the results of the English-language professional preparedness of the future physicians were, as follows: 21.62% of the EG (experimental group) students (10.14% prior to the experimental training course) and 15.13% ‒ the CG (control group) (21.16% prior to the experimental training course) showed the high level (11.18% prior to the experimental training course), 38% demonstrated the sufficient level, 52% of the EG respondents (14,86% prior to the experimental training course) and 25,00% ‒ the CG (15,13% prior to the experimental training course), 27,70% of the EG students (37,84% prior to the experimental training course) and 33,55% of the CG students (38.16% prior to the experimental training course) achieved the satisfactory level, 12.16% of the future doctors constituting the EG (37.16% prior to the experimental training course) and 26.32% ‒ the CG (35.53% prior to the experimental training course) demonstrated the low level. Consequently, based on the results obtained, we came to the conclusion on the practicability of introducing the experimental methodology of the English-language professional training targeted to the future doctors in the process of studying at medical institutions of higher education.
